Tuesday Tips from zach

Strength comes in all forms, shapes and sizes.

I believe the most important strength is in the mind.

The mind is also the toughest to develop and sharpen. I have
many bad days, but I have plenty of ways to fight back
and keep the mind strong.

"I always believed that the mind is the best weapon"
- RAMBO

Here's Tuesday's Tips for Strength that goes BEYONG the gym:

1) Steer clear of bums, negative people and common folk.

These people will bring you down with them.

Their negative energy is unfortunately that powerful.

The best thing to do is delete them from your life.

2) There are thieves and backstabbers everywhere.

Be careful of who you allow in your circle.

Be slow to bring people in and fast to remove these people.

If someone hurts you, don't be surprised. Learn from your
mistakes and don't make those mistakes again.

3) Sometimes..... and depending on the person, time and place, the training doesn't need to be so strategic.

More often than not, it's about the WORK.

If you're an advanced lifter, planning must be well thought out,
well planned and you must follow through.

For the Dads..... for MANY athletes, especially those who are weak
and skinny, they need WORK.

At The Underground we've been doing a lot of TRM [Total Rep Method].

Often times 50 total.

Examples:

50 Pull Ups

50 Push Ups or Dips

50 Curls

50 DB Bench

Just WORK.

Our head Coach, Nate Stout (Speaking this Friday at NJ NHSSCA State Clinic - Details HERE) shared with me how his Coach, the late, great
Jud Logan would have the throwers do circuits for toughness
and TEAM building.

Sometimes 1 mile partner farmer walks to a field with Kettlebells
and the throwing the KBs.

We did that a LOT in the early days of The Underground because we
trained outside so often.

It was the beginning of "NO Rules Training".

More to come next time.

Until then, DO THE WORK and delete any and all people from your
life who take away from Greatness.

Zach

Back in 2009, I recall taking a "sick day" from teaching when my buddy Joe Kenn reached out to bring his staff to trainat The Underground. Louisville was in town for a Football game vs Rutgers and The Underground was 10 minutes away. We had a great day and it was amazing to have a high level D1 staff to not only train, but to LEARN. "House Rules" was that his staff must train with the Coach. There was no option to "Do our own program". Why? How do you learn if you refuse to try something new?...
